Family History Fair at the Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch
Jefferson County Genealogical Society and the Jefferson County Library, Northwest Branch will host a Family History Fair on Saturday October 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event will be held at the Library, located at 5680 State Road PP, High Ridge. This is a great opportunity to learn how one can start your family history project or get great tips on advancing your research!
Presentations will be given throughout the day. Attendees can choose between “American Passenger Arrival Records” or “Archival Newspaper Resources” from
10 - 11a.m. & “One Record Isn’t Enough” or “History of Jefferson County” from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. In addition, be amused and educated by a Civil War Singer from 11 – 11:30 am & 1:30 – 2:00 pm. To conclude the day, all are invited to attend “Ask the Expert Panel – Question & Answer” from 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
A designated lunch break will be from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm. If one chooses, a pre-order lunch will be available to purchase. Visit the Jefferson County Genealogical Society website for the registration form at www.jcgsmo.org. Lunch Registration deadline is October 1.
Many genealogical and historical organizations will be present to answer questions about their group. The Library will offer free access to their online genealogy databases Ancestry, Heritage Quest and Fold3. Volunteers will be available for assistance.
There will be many door prizes, a quilt raffle, and the grand prize will be a one-year World Explorer Subscription to Ancestry.com.
