JEFFERSON COUNTY LIBRARY

DISTRIBUTION OF MATERIALS INSIDE LIBRARY

WHEREAS, the library serves as an information resource for the entire community;

WHEREAS, the library seeks to make information available to all area of residents on a wide variety of issues and topics; and

WHEREAS, the library has limited space available for community publications, flyers, and brochures that are not part of the library’s subscription materials.

NOW THEREFORE, the Jefferson County Library will designate a free distribution area inside each library branch under the following terms and conditions:

1. The free distribution area may be used by individuals, nonprofit organizations, media, and government agencies within the community to provide free copies of information about community activities and issues.
2. Materials will be retained in the designated area as space permits.
3. All materials in the free distribution area must be checked in by the library branch manager or staff member in charge of the building. Materials may remain in the distribution area for no more than 30 days. Any materials remaining after 30 days will be discarded by the library branch staff.
