DUE TO BUDGET CONSTRAINTS THE LIBRARY IMPLEMENTED A HIRING FREEZE EFFECTIVE FEBRUARY 10, 2010. WHEN ANY VACANCY OCCURS THE POSITION MUST BE REVIEWED TO DETERMINE IF IT IS NECESSARY TO MAINTAIN BASIC SERVICE LEVELS. NO POSITION WILL BE REFILLED UNLESS AUTHORIZED AS NECESSARY BY THE LIBRARY DIRECTOR.

 


 

Opening at the Windsor Branch:

LIBRARY CLERK I.  High school diploma or equivalent.  Computer skills a must; library experience preferred; detail-oriented; accurate; and enjoy working with children.     Full time including some evenings and Saturdays.  $7.75 per hour, holiday, vacation, and sick leave.  File application at Windsor Branch, Jefferson County Library, 7479 Metropolitan Blvd., Barnhart, MO  63012.


Opening at the Arnold branch:

REFERENCE LIBRARIAN I.  40 hours per week, including some evenings and Saturdays.

Responsible for primarily providing reference service to the public along with collection development and facilitating programming as needed.  Expected to demonstrate independent judgment, accept responsibility, function as a team player, and positively represent Jefferson County Library.

Requirements:  ALA-accredited MLS with public library experience a plus.  Strong technical skills desired.  Must be able to meet requirements of a Passport Acceptance Agent and pass a criminal record check.
